1. What Happens on the 9th of Every Month?

• Diagnostic Tests: Free Ultrasound (Sonography), Hemoglobin (for anemia), Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, and Urine tests.
• Supplements: Guaranteed provision of IFA (Iron Folic Acid) and Calcium tablets.
• Counselling: Expert advice on nutrition, birth preparedness, and family planning.

2. Understanding the Color Coded Stickers

Under PMSMA, every pregnant woman's Mother and Child Protection (MCP) card is marked with a specific color sticker during the checkup. This helps doctors and ASHA workers instantly identify the risk level during delivery.

• Green Sticker: Normal pregnancy with no complications.
• Red Sticker: High Risk Pregnancy (HRP). Requires immediate specialist attention, frequent monitoring, and mandatory delivery at a well-equipped hospital (CEmONC).
• Blue Sticker: Pregnancy with Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH).
• Yellow Sticker: Pregnancy with existing co-morbid conditions (like diabetes, hypothyroidism, or STIs).

3. Role of ASHA Workers and Transport Allowances

ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers are the backbone of this scheme. They are responsible for identifying pregnant women in their villages and ensuring they visit the health facilities on the 9th of every month.
