How to Apply for Punjab Govt Himmat Card Scheme 2026: Eligibility & CNIC Updates
In a major initiative to support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has reinforced the Himmat Card scheme for 2026. This vital program aims to provide financial assistance to deserving PWDs, helping them meet basic needs and live with greater dignity and independence.
Through this initiative, individuals who are officially assessed as unable to work due to their disabilities receive a quarterly stipend of Rs. 10,500. However, the government has set strict evaluation parameters to ensure the dedicated budget reaches the most vulnerable members of society.
Himmat Card 2026 Eligibility Assessment
Please proceed through the following questions to verify your eligibility according to official DPMIS Punjab criteria.
Q1. Are you a resident of Punjab with a valid CNIC registered in the province?
Q2. Have you been officially certified as a Person with Disability (PWD) by Social Welfare Punjab and assessed as 'Not Fit to Work'?
Q3. Are you currently employed in any government or private office?
Q4. Are you already receiving financial assistance from other government schemes (e.g., BISP, PSPA, Zakat)?
Q5. According to the NSER survey, does your household PMT score exceed 45?
1. Strict Eligibility Criteria for 2026
The Himmat Card is not universally available across Pakistan; it is an exclusive initiative of the Punjab government. To qualify for the Rs. 10,500 quarterly stipend, applicants must fulfill the following mandatory conditions:
- Provincial Restriction: You must possess a CNIC registered in Punjab.
- Medical Assessment: You must be certified as a PWD by Social Welfare Punjab and explicitly assessed as 'Not Fit to Work'.
- Employment Status: You cannot be employed in any government or private office.
- No Double Dipping: You must not be receiving financial assistance from BISP, PSPA, Zakat, or other similar funds.
- Poverty Threshold: Your household's Poverty Measure Test (PMT) score must not exceed 45.
2. Resolving the Expired CNIC Issue
Important 2026 Notice
During the recent top-up processes, the DPMIS system reported payment disbursement errors labeled as "Invalid Customer Data." This occurs when a beneficiary's CNIC has expired.
If your payment has been halted due to an expired CNIC, you must take immediate action to resume your stipend. The resolution steps are as follows:
- Renew your CNIC from NADRA immediately.
- Visit your nearest Bank of Punjab (BOP) Agent.
- Complete the biometric verification (Proof of Life).
- Contact the Social Welfare Department to update your renewed CNIC number in their records.
After completing these steps, your pending payment will be processed automatically in the next quarterly top-up cycle.
3. How to Verify Your Status
If you believe you meet all criteria but have not received your card, note that cards are issued in batches based on automated system shortlisting. There is no need to file a manual complaint for non-receipt.
You can verify your eligibility status online through the DPMIS Punjab portal by entering your 13-digit PWD CNIC number. Alternatively, you may visit your local Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal district/tehsil camp office or call the official helpline at 1312 for assistance.
